The Father’s House – Vacaville Campus

Vacaville | CA

The Father’s House is a rapidly-growing church in the Bay Area. Their Vacaville campus was in need of some improvement in order to serve the church and its surrounding community even better. The biggest need was a medium-sized worship venue for youth and community use, a larger lobby area for fellowship, and a flexible outdoor area for concerts and other outdoor gatherings.

The church engaged Equip Studio to support them with a solution to these needs. We were able to provide them with a design that includes a 500-seat venue and attached lobby that flows into the existing lobby space. This new venue forms the backdrop of the outdoor concert space with a modern, yet integrated material palette (metal panel, composite wood, and concrete). In addition to the new auditorium, the building also contains a pre-function gathering room adjacent to the lobby, as well as a large group space for students that can be subdivided into two rooms for conference breakout use. The new auditorium is approximately 20k sf. and will allow the church to serve all generations in their community.

The campus masterplan has also been updated to include a future chapel for intimate events such as weddings and funerals, and an outdoor activity area with fieldhouse and grandstands. The new buildings have been positioned to create outdoor rooms as well as block the strong western wind from invading the campus during windy seasons.”
